“Mother Earth” originally started as a sketch in the car; just a simple hill with a tree on it but I quickly came to see the face in the hillside. From there I had decided it would be “Mother Earth” and wanted to use light ethereal watercolor for the background. For the foreground I wanted to create designs that would simulate her hair, and brain.
